POSITION: Certified Quality Auditor/Inspector
POSITION REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Senior Quality Assurance Manager. Directs and performs organizational level Quality Assurance Inspections on the MQ-1 Unmanned Aircraft (UA), MD-1A/B/C/D Ground Control Station (GCS), RQ-1W Predator Primary Satellite Link (PPSL), Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and associated support and test equipment. Equivalent to the US Air Force 9 skill level. Manages, directs and controls organizational level quality assurance activities. Primary technical advisor for maintenance issues and assist work center supervisors in managing the maintenance effort. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the implementation and administering the Maintenance Standardization and Evaluation Program (MSEP), Activity Inspections (AI), Product Improvement Program (PIP), Deficiency Reporting (DR), Aircraft and Equipment Impoundment Program, Weight and Balance Program and FOD Prevention Program. Review aircraft aborts, In-flight Emergency (IFE), and other incidents as required. Assist PS&D with the TCTO Program. Accomplish QA responsibilities pertaining to contract compliance. Review all new and revised technical data and TCTO’s for completeness, accuracy and applicability. Review maintenance related local OIs, profile JSTs, and IMTs/forms annually for accuracy, intent, and necessity. Manage and oversee the prevention of dropped objects and assist in investigation incidents. Coordinate on all requests for locally designed tools or equipment. Review, verify and publish combined In Process Inspection (IPI) listing. Develop, review and maintain Key Task List (KTL) and Routine Inspection Listing (RIL) and provide copies of approved lists to all affected departments. Ensure standardized Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL)/standards are developed for all tasks including KTL and RIL. Spot-check TOs, inspection work cards, checklists, job guides, and manuals during evaluation and inspections for currency and serviceability. Develop and maintain a local training plan to train all QA personnel, including QA Augmentees, to ensure uniformity in application of inspection and evaluation techniques and philosophy. Evaluate flightline and back shop maintenance tasks and inspections. Weight and Balance Certified/Qualified. Enter inspection and evaluation reports into the QA database. Provide training/instruction as applicable to address deficiencies identified during the evaluation/inspection.
Requirements: Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience and 15 Years Aviation Maintenance Experience. American Society for Quality (ASQ) certified. Airframe and Power Plant License and USAF experience preferred. 5 Years Leadership and Management Experience. Must be able to obtain a US government security clearance, if required.
