Medical Customer Service Job Description:

This position requires experience with a third party administrator.

Provide technical support and act as a back-up for the customer service supervisor. Assists with training, queue monitoring, and customer service issues. Assume responsibilities as delegated by Customer Service Supervisor.

-Able to verify caller to ensure only appropriate information is released per policies and procedures.
-Able to research and respond accurately to contact/re-pricing issues and negative vendor calls.
-Demonstrates an understanding of COBRA Administration and coordination of benefits, rules and guidelines.
-Coordinates responses to all inquires to include, but not limited to, research, departmental coordination for information, and communicate leads to provide the correct information to the inquirer.
-Responds to provider inquiries such as eligibility verification, status of claims, questions on payment remittance, overpayments, covered benefits, and appropriates procedures for referrals or any other required information.
-Requests Participants ID Cards
-Obtain copies of EOBs or Remits from ABF as needed by providers or members
-Promotes web and web portals.
-Provides backup and support to Customer Service Supervisor, and assists with training to all areas supported by the customer service department.
-Remains in queue to answer calls when necessary.
- Responds to written claim status requests.
-Handles Flex calls when necessary
-In absence of supervisor, is responsible for monitoring teams call volume initiating movements of queues; is back up for Call Center System; maintains payroll records.
-Attend weekly meetings as requested by Senior Management.

Skills needed:
-High School diploma
-2 years minimum customer service experience within third party administrators
-Work well in stressful situations with continues inquires and complaints.
-Ability to pay close attention to detail.
